About Action Carting Environmental

Rivo developed a system for Action Carting to streamline its safety processes and improve the management of its safety incident recording and reporting. Recurring incidents can now be tracked and analyzed to determine root causes. Full preventative/ corrective action planning capability ensures that preventative measures can be put in place quickly and tasks can be tracked through to completion.
Action Carting Environmental Services operates in the commercial, building and industrial markets collecting and recycling trash, to include composting organic material. They have a fleet of close to 100 vehicles, catering to a diverse range of clients including two NYC stadiums, restaurants, medical facilities, office buildings, contractor sites and investment banks.
Action Carting operates in a high-risk environment. The risks come from a wide variety of sources ranging from the operating of various types of collection vehicles, as well as injuries from handling the many different types of waste and waste receptacles.
Action Carting was looking for a consistent and methodical approach to collecting its accident and incident data, carrying out investigations and extracting the data to make it meaningful in order to be able to identify trends in real-time.
With almost 100 drivers working all hours of the day and night seven days a week, it was important that Action Carting had instant notification of all incidents. They needed a system that would meet their specific requirements in terms of capturing data in relation to vehicle accidents, injuries to employees or members of the public which did not involve a vehicle, damage to property (e.g. damaged sidewalk) and any environmental incidents (e.g. fuel spillages).
Previously, Action Carting were using a variety of different capturing and reporting methods including spreadsheets and paper-based forms. This meant that it was not easy to collate the data and use it to identify potential risks and safety hazards, investigate accidents and be proactive in reducing the number of safety related incidents.
With Rivo’s Safeguard solution implemented, Action Carting has a more accessible, reliable and efficient process in place. Safeguard provides Action Carting with real-time visibility on compliance and they are able to produce detailed and informative reports tailored to their business requirements quickly and easily and drill down within the data to look at causes of accidents, times and location and types of vehicle.
Safeguard has automated the processes that were being done manually like collating the data from spreadsheets and chasing up incomplete corrective actions. These improvements in operation efficiency mean there is less time spent on administration and more time for proactive safety management.
